OLIMEX low speed interface standards
Olimex does not have that many modules, but some very intereting ones.

I think this displays are a good option for the start.

Re: Klick Modules
Klick modules are 25.4 mm wide
http://blog.ljcv.net/2018/08/mikroelektronika-mikrobus-and-click.html
Cruvi boards are only 22mm wide.
So Klick boards would not fit on cruvi boards.
This is a problem.

Re: Use case
nice, that could be set as long term goal, but full 100% plug and play is not set as ultimate target, so it may take a while..
Some comments: when the carrier wakes up, then either SoC (if hard CPU

Re: some infos from Antti about ID system
I can imagine a computer BIOS-like management tool for reading/writing the ID-s as well as for performing some rudimentary testing should the meta-data contain a HW description.

Re: First motherboard?
yees ->
kind of idea is/was a EUROCARD template:
3 + 3 cruvi slots (back + front)
SPACE for "brain" in the middle
fits some existing enclosure for eurocards
"some" connector front - RJ45 gBe ?
power

adding modules there

Use case
I need a solution with several interfaces.
I buy a carrier board with enough cruvi slots and I buy all the different cruvi modules I need.
I plug in all cruvi modules into the carrier board and switch

Re: cruvi2PMOD
This is something I did look into for long time, we use the "solder down" spacers in some stuff, and press-fit could also be an option, but
There are some constraints why I pretty much excluded

Re: PCIe M.2 ?
yes, in the HS connector there is one dedicated TRANSCEIVER lane, and USB has also dedicated pins (reserved)
and - M2 connector fits onto single wide CRUVI module !
so at least theoretically it
